Pueblito takes its Heart of the Community Program to schools, clubs and church groups
In our efforts to raise awareness of the plight of impoverished Dominican Republicans and to help launch Pueblito's Heart of the Community Program, we have developed a Heart of the Community Program launch package to bring to schools, clubs and church groups that consists of the following key elements:
- A twenty-minute, thought provoking Power Point presentation vividly describing the circumstances within the Dominican Republic, the need for Pueblito's Heart of the Community program and specifics relating to how the program will make a sustainable difference in the lives of the children, families and communities it reaches. The presentation will be delivered by members of Pueblito's management team. Following the presentation, a ten-minute time allotment will be included for audience Q & A.
- A Lesson Plan for use by teachers and others leading the participation at presentation sessions has been created by Pueblito to complement the presentation sessions and encourage interactive involvement during class to gain a better understanding of life within the Dominican Republic. The Lesson Plan also includes instructions for teachers and other leaders directing the activity. Members of Pueblito's speaker's bureau can also be available to assist in the Lesson Plan sessions.
- A comprehensive Roots & Realities handout will be given to participants at presentation sessions and provides information about the history of the Dominican Republic and causes for the current circumstances within the country.
- A Heart of the Community, Tree of Hope fundraising program consisting of a wall poster (size 20" x 30"), supply of $2 and $5 hearts to be purchased, personalized and hung on the poster along with a "how to get started" fundraising instruction sheet .
