Over 350 celebrate Pueblito's 3rd annual FIESTA and 30th anniversary of operation

The Lula Lounge on Dundas Street West was the site for Pueblito Canada’s 3rd annual ¡FIESTA! where over $30,000 was raised for Pueblito’s programs in Latin American countries. This was a very special event because it also marked Pueblito’s 30th anniversary of operation. “We have come so far in the past 30 years when we began our first program in Costa Rica”, remarks Betty Ann Taylor, President of Pueblito’s Board of Directors. “And we are very proud of the fact that tens of thousands of children and their communities have benefited and will continue to benefit from our work in Latin America”.

Pueblito’s ¡FIESTA! was a lively time for over 350 people who came for dinner and dancing to the Latin sounds of Caché. Pueblito also had the pleasure of offering everyone complimentary salsa dance lessons from Stephanie Gurnon and Mark-Anthony Sheppard, world class dancers and directors of Toronto’s best salsa dance company, the Mambo Tribe. Mambo Tribe’s Student Group Performers also dazzled us with two salsa performances!

adisu Lago, formerly show host at TLN and George Tsioutsioulas, popular TV personality generously donated their time and talent as the masters of ceremony.

And the evening wouldn’t have been complete without Pueblito’s famous silent and live auctions. Over 110 items were up for auction. Some of the incredible live auction prizes included tickets to Cirque du Soleil’s Las Vegas performance KÀ, an exclusive VIP shopping experience at Artweave, award winning company, earning a reputation and leading role in handmade, contemporary and traditional carpets. Moreno Travel donated a trip for 2 to Puerto Vallarta, and chef Mario Cassini created an unforgettable dinner package for 4 at his Brazilian influenced restaurant, Caju. Popular Latin Artist, Andres Correo captivated the audience with his creation of a beautiful work of art to Cachés' uplifting rhythms. Andreas’ art was auctioned off at the end of the event by Bill Heffernan – live auctioneer. Personal Tours Inc. offered a private tour for two through Niagara on the Lake vineyards beginning at Janico Bed and Breakfast, in Niagara on the Lake. This package also included a one night stay at the Janico Bed and Breakfast.

Dinner guests were eligible to win the trip for two to the luxurious Manta Beach Inn in Ecuador, courtesy of Manta Beach Developments Inc. and TACA Airlines.

“All in all, the night was magical”, said Betty Ann Taylor, “and I am very proud to have been a part of this experience!”
