So, what’s Fund-A-Need auction?
Well, take your traditional auction, mix it with a Dutch auction, and twist it with a splash of innovative philanthropy and bingo bango, you got yourself a Fund-A-Need auction!
Here are the basics:
- Fund-A-Need auctions are not about goods and services
- Auction items are based on a need – i.e. an interactive, arts-based education through the MyBest program
- Auctioneer starts the bidding at ‘x’ amount and instead of increasing the bid, he decreases it until he reaches $0
- As the auctioneer decreases the amount more bidders can add to the pot
- All bids are pooled together to Fund-A-Need
- End result: a generous, communal bid for Pueblito Canada
