Pueblito and FUNARTE (Esteli, Nicaragua) have teamed up again for a new project called ¡ArtWorks2!. Over the next two years, FUNARTE will work with 30 rural community preschools to implement an arts-based curriculum that has now been recognized by the Nicaraguan Ministry of Education. With Pueblito’s help over the last five years, FUNARTE has taken its curriculum into several hundred community preschools throughout the country. The quality of Early Childhood Education (ECE) in Nicaragua is greatly improved and the project’s sustainability has been achieved thanks to FUNARTE’s visionary efforts with the Nicaraguan Ministry of Education. The future of the arts-based curriculum is now secure as it is being taught to teachers almost nation-wide through the National Teachers’ Colleges.
