INTRODUCTION
We believe that we can best improve the lives of children by starting at the beginning. For that reason, our primary focus is ECD - Early Childhood Development.
We are currently implementing programs in Brazil, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Although each program varies with need, the focus is consistent, to improve the well-being and maximize the potential of every child.
All our programs in Latin America are built on partnerships with well-established organizations who know their communities' needs. Highly respected, they are able to foster community participation.
We act as a facilitator, providing financial resources and sharing know-how with local partner organizations and the community. Together we develop childcare programs that include health, nutrition and education, with an emphasis on educating and training families and community members to support healthy child development. By focusing on training and education, we extend the lifecycle of our programs, and improve the lives of even more children in the long-term, ultimately breaking the cycle of poverty forever.
Early Childhood Development - What it is
ECD is a holistic approach to policies and programs that focuses on children from
birth to 6 years of age. Children need healthy, supportive families and communities if they are to grow and thrive. Our approach therefore addresses the emotional, social, physical, cognitive, and spiritual needs of children, in the broader context of the family and community.
